MISSION STATEMENT

Mission statement community volunteer fire department the community volunteer fire department is dedicated to providing the upmost fire, rescue, fire prevention and life safety services to the citizens residing and visiting in our fire district in order to meet these expectations, every member of the community volunteer fire department and it's board of directors will support the following.

1. Stay aware of the ever changing needs of our fire district and it's residents.

2. Continue the endeavor of requiring personnel to recieve standardized training and state certifications.

3. Continually elaluate and update the needed equiptment used to perform our professional functions.


As a professional orginization, existing since october of 1956, we will strive to meet the needs of our fire district and protect it's citizens during any emergency.

Station 32 was special called for a tanker to respond to a house on fire at 4848 Hidden Meadow Ct. in Station 50’s local(New Hope VFD). Engine 323 responded with a crew of 5 personal. 323 was put in the water shuttle line as soon as it arrived and a crew of 3 firefighters was put to work putting out hotspots. Once on scene crews were advised that a total of 3 civilians were missing. Gaston County Police did confirm that an adult female died in the house fire Wednesday, but they continue to search for a 7-year-old and 6-month-old child that lived at the home. 323 remained on scene for 2 hours before returning to 32’s local

Small fire in East Gaston High School

Engine 323 was dispatched on a first alarm assignment to assist Station 30(East Gaston VFD) with a fire in the Library of East Gaston High School. Engine 303 arrived first with a report of a fire in an A/C unit in a work room next to the Library. 323was next due and took a position next to the plug for an assignment. The fire was extinguished by workers on the scene. Engine 323 and its crew of 5 then reported to the rear of the school to help in smoke removal. 323 was out for an hour before returning to Station 32’s local

MVA HICKORY GROVE AND PERFECTION AVE.

Staton 32 Responded to MVA at the intersection of Hickory Grove Rd. and Perfection Ave. Light damage was done to the car that rested about 30 ft. off the roadway, and the only injury was to the drivers foot. Engine 320 and Squad 328 was back in service within the hour.

 
   
   
 
SECOND ALARM FIRE IN STATION 17'S LOCAL

Station 32 responded with E-323 to assist Lowell FD (Sta. 17) with a commerical fire at a Laundry Mat. Lowell Police said that a 911 call came in at 9:51 p.m. reporting a fire at The Lowell Family Restaurant, located at 125 N. Main St., and the Highland Center Washerette

Just before dark thursday station 32 responded to Riverloop Rd. for what was reported as smoke in the area, but before arrival of Engine 320 very heavy smoke was visible from I-85. As Engine 320 arrived the call was made for Sta. 32 to start a tanker and brush unit. Fire was under control within 20 mins.

 
   
   
 
SPECIAL CALL FOR BRUSH FIRE

Station 32 was called to brush fire in Station 51's local were a combine harvester sparked a fire in a south Gastonia oat field Monday that burned 27 acres before firefighters knocked it down. Station 32 responed with Engine 323 and a crew of 5 personal. Record-setting heat did not ignite the fire at 1:30 p.m. on land off Howe Dairy and Neal Hawkins roads. But temperatures did make fighting the fire more dangerous. Firefighters fought flames that reached 4 or 5 feet and had the blaze under control in about an hour. They cleared the area shortly after 6 p.m.

THE CLASS OF 2008

Station 32 would like to graduate the class of 2008. On Saturday June 7th three members of our family will graduate from High school. From East Gaston High School Firefighters Justin Westbrook and Greg Short, and from South Point High School Firefighter Timothy Treece. Also later this year Firefighters Clay Brendle, Matt Silvers, and Ben Thomson will graduate from Gaston College with Associate Degrees in Fire Protection Technology.

STATION 32 RESPONDS ON BRUSH FIRE ASSIST

Station 32 respondes to East Gaston VFD(Sta. 30) local refrence assist on a brush fire. The fire - about 100 feet wide and stretching three miles - has burned about 20 acres of land along N.C. 27, stretching from Westland Farm Road to the Stanley city limits. Station 32 responded with Brush 327 and Heavy brush truck 326 and 6 members. Units remained on scene for 4 hours before returning to Station 32. Other departments that assisted were Alexis(Sta. 20), Mt. Holly (Sta's 34 and 33), Stanley(Sta. 22), NC Forestry Service(F-1) and Lucia-Riverbend(Sta. 31)

FAST MOVING STORM BRING BUSY MORNING

An early Friday morning tornado packing winds up to 120 mph ripped a 6 1/4-mile path through Gaston County, leaving downed trees and damaged buildings from an office complex on Union Road to a business park in Belmont.The tornado hit at 2:10 a.m., a factor that probably attributed to no reported injuries or deaths, said Vince DiCarlo, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.The strongest winds - reaching 120 mph - came as the storm hit the Catawba Heights area in Belmont, DiCarlo said. Several buildings at The Oaks business park off Woodlawn Avenue in Belmont suffered damaged, including significant roof damage to the Baxter-Hariss Co. building Station 32 was first alerted to a fire alarm assist with City of Belmont Fire Dept.(Sta. 43) at the Baxter-Harris warehouse on The Oaks Parkway in Station 32 old district. Engine 323 while enroute to the alarm off came upon some of the first storm damage noticed in North Belmont. A 100 foot 18 inch in diameter Oak tree with power lines in was across the road way. Engine 323, Engine 320 and Squad 328 responed to 8 calls for service in our local and neighboring districts for the next 2 hours. The storm came in to the county with little notice,by the time a warning was sounded the storm had been over for 10 minutes.

THREE NEW EMTS HIT THE STREETS

Station 32 would like to congratulate Jordan Stancil, Jason Jackson, and Justin Westbrook for completing 186 hours of medical training and passing there North Carolina State EMT test. All the members would like to welcome them in to the world of street doctoring.

 
 
HOUSE FIRE ON KEE ROAD

On Monday 4/14/08 around 12:20 Station 32 was alerted to a possible house fire at 31 Kee Road. Engine 323 was first due because Engine 320 was down for repair. Engine 323 arrived to find a 1-story wood frame with heavy smoke coming from the attic. Members on the scene reported that everyone was out except for two of the families pets. Crews stretched a 1-3/4" attack line to the front door will another crew made up of members that arrived POV opened up the roof. One Pet was removed by the attack team and treated. The other smaller pet was found later on during overhaul and had expired due to smoke inhalation. The fire was contained to the room of origin with some extension to the attack. Crews remained on scene for about two hours performing overhaul and assisting the Fire Marshal’s office with there investigation. Station 32 would like to thank the assist department for there help (McAdenville (Sta. 40), East Gaston (Sta. 30), Belmont (Sta. 43), Stanley (Sta. 22) and Lowell (Sta. 17).

MVA WITH POSSIBLE PIN-IN

Around 2:00am crews from Station 32 and 34 were awakened to a report of a MVA on West Catawba St. in 32's local. Rescue Engine 320 arrived to find a single vehicle accident with heavy damage off the roadway with no one around. Residence stated that they seen two subject leave the vehicle bleeding and were picked up by a passer-by. Rescue Engine 320 and Squad 328 remained on scene to help the NC Highway Patrol with traffic control for 30 minutes and Rescue 34 was released.

 
   
   
 
NEW OFFICERS SHIELDS

Station 32 recently took delivery of new officer's shields. Theses shields along with putting our line officers in red helmets will make fire ground operations easier.
