MISSION STATEMENT

The Community Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to providing the utmost in fire, rescue, fire prevention and life safety services to the citizens residing and visiting in our fire district in order to meet these expectations, every member of the Community Volunteer Fire Department and its board of directors will support the following:

1. Stay aware of the ever changing needs of our fire district and it's residents.

2. Continue the endeavor of requiring personnel to receive standardized training and state certifications.

3. Continually evaluate and update the needed equipment used to perform our professional functions.

As a professional organization, existing since March of 1956, we will strive to meet the needs of our fire district and protect its citizens during any emergency.

 
Another mobile home fire in a week

Just before 4am Station 32 and 30 (East Gaston FD) were alert to a possible structure fire; Chief Jackson (3200) arrived on scene to report a fully involved mobile home on fire. Rescue 32 and Engine 32 arrived to stretch two 1-3/4 inch hose lines that made quick of the well advanced fire. The reminder of the box filled in and the fire was placed under control in about 15 minutes. Crews remained on scene till daylight. The scene was then turned over to the fire marshal's office for investigation.

Tanker 32 called to assist with 2nd alarm

Tanker 32 responded to assist station 30 ( East Gaston ) with a reported house fire on Spratt Dr off Old NC 27. EG Engine 300 arrived on the scene to find a fully involved structure fire. Engine 303 arrived along with 204 and supplied the engine companies. A second alarm was struck bringing tankers from Community and Spencer Mt. Mt. Holly FD was dispatched for manpower.  Tanker 32 cleared the scene at 04:00 hrs. The Gaston County Fire Marshal's Office was called out to investigate the cause of the fire.

Small House fire on Sunday Afternoon

Just after 14:30 Station 32 was alerted to a possible house fire on Hazeleen Ave. at the far end of our district near the county line. Engine 431(Belmont FD) and Rescue 32 arrived to find a single story structure with smoke showing. The fire was located in a storage room of the carport. The fire was quickly knocked down with a single 1-3/4" hoseline while the roof was opened up for ventilation. Crews remained on scene for about an hour before returning to service.

32 to assist on commercial fire

Engine 32 was called to assist Station 30 (East Gaston) with a fire alarm off at 100 Buckeye Dr. First unit on scene reported smoke showing and fire in a machine. Engine 32 arrived with a crew of 5 and was assigned to help stretch an attack line to the interior. Crews found a fire contained to the machine that was quickly controlled. Crews remained on scene for about two hour doing overhaul and checking for extension before returning to 32's local.


 
   
   
Station 32 run a Mobile home fire with possible entrapment

Station 32 was alerted to structure fire with possible entrapment. Chief Jackson (3200) arrived on the scene to report a single wide mobile home fully involved. Rescue 32 arrived with a full crew of four to stretch 1-3/4" hoseline. Engine 32 and Tanker 32 arrived right behind the Rescue to provide water supply and manpower. Engine 303 and Squad 309 from East Gaston (Station 30) arrived to fill out the box. Two Patents were treated for minor injuries with one transported. The fire was placed under control shortly and overhaul was started. Gaston County Fire Marshal’s office was called for investigation. 32 units remained on scene for 2 hours before returning to service.


 
   
   
Engine 32 to Mt. Holly for Commercial Fire

Summer storm bring work to the area. Engine 32 was called to assist Mt. Holly Fire(Station 34) with a commercial fire at 1 Miller St. Engine 32 arrived with a crew of 4 and assisted with stretching a 2-1/2" gated off to a Cleveland load. Crews were meet with light smoke conditions in the stairwell. Heavy smoke was found in the break room along with sprinkler activation. The main body of fire was found between the floors in a HVAC work space. The fire was quickly controlled. While taking up Engine 32 picked up a medical call for Station 34 before returning back to Station 32's local.

Engine 32 was special called to assist Station 30 with a house fire Command check on scene with a one story house with smoke showing. Engine 32 arrived with a crew of 5 to assist. While picking up Engine 32 was called to assist Rescue 32 on a MVA . All in all a busy day for Station 32


 
   
   
Water Shuttle Training

Early on Saturday Morning Station 32 and some of our closest friend got together for some training. All this is in preparations for Station 32's upcoming ISO inspection. The next training session will be August 24th at 7am

Enigne 32 to a multi-alarm fire

Around 17:19 Engine 32 was dispatched to Station 30's local for a fire in a commercial structure at Buckeye industries. Engine 32 was placed on the FDC and its crew was assigned multiply task during the call. Crew s from station 32 were rotated from the station to the scene till 12am when the incident was placed under control. A total of 15 fire fighter from Station 32 took turn on the scene. All unit home safely around 1am.


 
   
   
Fully involved mobile home fire

Just after Midnight Station 32 was alert to a possible mobile home fire on Riverloop Road. Rescue 32 and Engine 431 from the City of Belmont arrived together to find a fully involved mobile home fire. (2) 1-3/4" hose line and (1) 2-1/2" line  were pulled and used to extinguished the fire. Units remained on scene for about two hour before returning to service.

One of our Live-ins leaves the nest

Firefighter II / EMT Ben Thompson has accepted a position with the Chester County, SC Fire Marshal's Offices as a Deputy Fire Coordinator. FF Thomson has been with us for four years as a live in and in that time graduated with two degrees from Gaston College. The members and staff of Station 32 wish him good luck and Godspeed on his new endeavors.

Crew make quick work of mobile home fire

Just before 13:00 hours on Thursday Station 32 was alerted to a possible mobile home on fire. Capt. Walden (3205) arrived on scene and reported a single wide mobile home with smoke showing. Engine 32 arrived and a single 1-3/4 inch hose was deployed. A small fire was found in the front bedroom. Crew from Rescue 32 arrived a performed a primary search with nothing found. Gaston County Fire Marshal's office was dispatched for an investigation. Crews cleared in about an hour

Station 32 receives the 2009 AFG Grant

Chief Jackson would like to announce that Station 32 has been awarded the Assistance to Firefighters grant from the Department of Homeland Securities Federal Emergency Management Division (FEMA) for the sum of $ 79,629.00. These funds will be applied towards new equipment, laptop computers for each truck, and a wellness and fitness program. Station 32 would like to thank the Honorable Senator Kay Hagen for her support in this important endeavor.

Station 32 had a good crowd for Thursday night training with a car donated to the Department by a local wrecker company. Members new and old got to polish old skills and learned new ones.


 
   
   
32 Catches Memorial Weekend Work!

At 01:30 Station 32 was alerted to a Mobile Home fire in a local Trailer Park. Chief Jackson arrived on scene and advised that it was a working fire. Rescue 32 arrived shortly behind Chief Jackson and deployed 2-13/4 inch attack lines and began an aggressive fire attack. Engine 32 arrived 2nd due and deployed their manpower and equipment. Tanker 32 arrived and provided a water point for the incident. The remainder of the box arrived and supported to initial crews. The incident is currently under investigation by the Gaston County Police and the Gaston County Fire Marshall’s Office. Units on the box: Rescue 32, Engine 32, Tanker 32, Squad 32, Engine 303, Squad 309 along with GEMS, Gaston County Police and Gaston County Fire Marshalls Office.
